Community Guidelines
1. Our Community Values
Africoders is built on principles of respect, inclusivity, and collaboration. We are committed to fostering a community where all members feel safe, valued, and empowered to contribute their knowledge and expertise.
2. Respectful Communication
All members must communicate respectfully with others. This means:
- Treating others with courtesy and respect
- Listening actively to diverse perspectives
- Avoiding personal attacks, insults, or derogatory language
- Disagreeing constructively without hostility
- Using appropriate language (avoiding excessive profanity)
- Respecting cultural and linguistic differences
3. Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination
Africoders welcomes members from all backgrounds. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on:
- Race, ethnicity, or national origin
- Gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- Religion or belief system
- Disability or health status
- Age
- Socioeconomic status
- Technical skill level or experience
4. Professional Conduct
Members should maintain professional standards in all interactions:
- Share knowledge generously and authentically
- Provide constructive feedback
- Acknowledge and credit others' work and ideas
- Take responsibility for mistakes
- Maintain confidentiality when appropriate
- Follow through on commitments
5. Content Standards
All content shared on Africoders should be:
- Relevant to the community and platform purpose
- Accurate and factual to the best of your knowledge
- Original or properly attributed
- Free from spam or promotional content (unless permitted)
- Appropriate for a professional environment
6. Harassment and Bullying
We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or intimidation in any form:
- No direct threats or violence
- No repeated unwanted contact or stalking
- No sharing of personal information without consent
- No coordinated attacks or mass reporting
- No targeted campaigns against individuals or groups
7. Privacy and Confidentiality
Respect others' privacy:
- Do not share personal information without consent
- Do not collect or use data for unauthorized purposes
- Respect private messages and conversations
- Understand platform boundaries between public and private
8. Dispute Resolution
If you have a conflict with another member:
- Try to resolve it privately and respectfully
- Use reporting tools if necessary
- Do not escalate publicly or seek allies for attacks
- Allow moderation team time to investigate
9. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Warning or notice
- Content removal
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination
10. Report Violations
If you witness a violation, report it to community@africoders.com with details and evidence. We appreciate your help in maintaining a healthy community.
